Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book or accept our service. Last updated: [date].

1. Our services

CarbonTech provides mobile, on-site diesel particulate filter (DPF) cleaning, intake manifold cleaning, and hydrogen engine carbon cleaning across Melbourne metro and surrounds. We come to your home or workplace.

2. Bookings, quotes and pricing

3. Inspection and diagnosis first

We inspect and diagnose the cause of the fault before cleaning. Our recommendation and quote are based on that inspection. We will explain what we find and seek your approval before any chargeable work beyond the quoted service.

4. Your responsibility to disclose

You must give us the full and accurate history of the vehicle and fault, including previous repairs or attempts, warning lights, and any modifications. Our diagnosis and results rely on this. If relevant information is withheld, we may be unable to identify the real cause, and we are not responsible for outcomes resulting from undisclosed information.

5. Vehicles we cannot service (modifications)

We do not service vehicles where the emissions or DPF system has been tampered with or modified, including (without limitation) EGR delete, ECU remap, DPF delete, or any modification that affects the DPF or its operation.

6. Our guarantee

7. Call-out fee

A $250 call-out fee applies where: (a) we attend and discover an undisclosed disqualifying modification (clause 5); or (b) we make a return visit after a separate repair is completed elsewhere (clause 6). We will always tell you before any call-out fee applies.

8. Preventive services are not repairs

Intake manifold cleaning and hydrogen carbon cleaning are preventive maintenance that reduce carbon build-up and help systems last longer. They are not repairs. They will not restore or repair an already-faulty or damaged part (for example a faulty EGR valve, or a jammed/damaged intake runner or swirl flap). Where we identify a damaged part, we will advise you; repair or replacement of that part is separate and not included.

9. DPF condition and limits of cleaning

Cleaning restores a structurally sound filter. A DPF that has been damaged — for example cracked, or melted internally by forced regenerations performed while heavily clogged — cannot be restored by cleaning and may require replacement. We will advise you if we assess your DPF as beyond cleaning.

10. Important risk disclosure — pre-existing faults

Completing a DPF service includes running the engine through a regeneration under full operating conditions. This can sometimes reveal a hidden, pre-existing fault in the engine or related systems. The regeneration is not the cause of that fault — it was already present and could not be detected while the vehicle was in limp mode or before full operation. To the extent permitted by law, CarbonTech is not liable for pre-existing faults or for any consequential damage that results when such a fault is exposed. We take all reasonable care to avoid this, but it can still occur. By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

11. Limp mode and driving

If your vehicle is in limp mode, this is a protective safety mode. You should stop driving and avoid driving in limp mode except as necessary to reach a safe place. Driving the vehicle in a faulty condition is at your own risk.

12. Legality / emissions compliance

We only perform legal, emissions-compliant work. We do not perform DPF deletes or any modification that disables an emissions-control device, as this is unlawful for road-registered vehicles in Australia.

13. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law which cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited (to the extent permitted) to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

14. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version is on our website. Questions? Call 0483 926 061 or email info@carbon-tech.com.au.
