DPF Warranty – Terms & Conditions

Plain-English summary: The CarbonTech DPF Warranty is a conditional preventive-maintenance support program (not insurance). Keep your diesel serviced with an authorised CarbonTech partner — regular servicing plus hydrogen carbon cleans — and we help with DPF clogging caused by normal soot build-up. It does not cover DPF replacement or blockage caused by other mechanical faults. Full terms below.

How the CarbonTech DPF Warranty works
How the CarbonTech DPF Warranty works

1. Overview

The CarbonTech DPF Warranty Program is a conditional service program designed to assist eligible customers with Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) clogging issues caused by normal soot accumulation during regular vehicle operation. This program is not an insurance product and does not cover all mechanical failures or DPF replacement.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the CarbonTech DPF Warranty Program, the vehicle must meet ALL of the following conditions:

2.1 Initial Qualification

The vehicle must complete:

  • Two (2) consecutive normal services at an authorised CarbonTech partner workshop; AND
  • Two (2) Hydrogen Clean services during those services.

2.2 Vehicle Health Condition

During the qualification period and throughout the warranty period, the vehicle must NOT have any unresolved engine or emission-related faults, including but not limited to:

  • EGR system faults
  • Turbocharger faults
  • Injector faults
  • Intake or boost air leaks
  • Oil leaks affecting engine or DPF operation
  • Sensor faults related to engine or DPF operation
  • Any fault capable of contributing to abnormal soot loading

CarbonTech reserves the right to inspect and determine vehicle eligibility.

2.3 Fault-Free Qualification Requirement

If any engine, emission, intake, turbocharger, injector, EGR, air leak, oil leak, sensor or DPF-related faults are detected during the initial two qualifying services, the vehicle will NOT qualify for the CarbonTech DPF Warranty Program at that time. The detected faults must first be properly repaired and resolved.

The vehicle will only become eligible for the DPF Warranty Program after completing:

  • Two (2) consecutive fault-free normal services; AND
  • Two (2) consecutive Hydrogen Clean services

following the successful repair of all relevant faults. CarbonTech reserves the right to determine whether a vehicle is fault-free and eligible for warranty issuance.

3. Service Requirements

3.1 Service Intervals

The vehicle must continue to follow:

  • Manufacturer-recommended service intervals by time and kilometre; OR
  • At minimum, one (1) service every 12 months,

whichever occurs first.

3.2 Continued Servicing Requirement

To maintain active DPF Warranty status, the vehicle must continue servicing at an authorised CarbonTech partner workshop and continue completing Hydrogen Clean services as recommended. Failure to maintain servicing with authorised partner workshops may void the DPF Warranty immediately.

4. Fault Code Requirements

During the warranty period:

  • Engine-related fault codes must NOT be cleared without proper documentation.
  • If fault codes are cleared: the fault codes must be recorded; vehicle kilometres at the time of clearing must be recorded; supporting photos or diagnostic screenshots must be retained.

Failure to provide records may result in denial of warranty assistance.

5. Warranty Coverage

5.1 What is Covered

The DPF Warranty only covers DPF clogging caused by normal soot accumulation during regular vehicle use. Approved claims may receive: DPF inspection; DPF cleaning service; related diagnostic assessment at CarbonTech’s discretion.

5.2 What is NOT Covered

This warranty does NOT cover:

  • DPF replacement; internal DPF damage; external or physical DPF damage;
  • Melted, cracked, broken or modified DPFs;
  • Damage caused by excessive forced regenerations;
  • Damage caused by continued driving with DPF warning lights active;
  • Mechanical failures contributing to DPF blockage;
  • Damage caused by third-party repairs or modifications;
  • Towing costs; consequential vehicle damage; labour or parts related to mechanical repairs.

6. Warranty Claim Process

6.1 Inspection & Diagnosis

All warranty claims must undergo inspection by a CarbonTech DPF specialist. If CarbonTech determines the DPF blockage is caused by an underlying mechanical issue (including but not limited to injector faults, turbo faults, EGR faults, air leaks, oil contamination, sensor faults), the vehicle owner must: repair the underlying fault at their own expense before DPF cleaning assistance can proceed; AND pay all applicable diagnostic fees.

6.2 Approval

All warranty approvals are subject to: vehicle inspection, service history verification, diagnostic assessment, and compliance with these Terms & Conditions. CarbonTech reserves the right to deny claims where conditions have not been met.

7. Warranty Limitations

This DPF Warranty: is non-transferable; applies only to the registered vehicle owner; applies only to the original qualifying vehicle; has no cash value; cannot be redeemed for cash or alternative services. CarbonTech may amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

8. Disclaimer

The CarbonTech DPF Warranty Program is a conditional service support program only and is not: an insurance product; a guarantee against all DPF failures; a guarantee against future mechanical issues. Regular vehicle maintenance remains the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
